WHAT IS A LEGACYREEL?
Also known as a video memoir or legacy video, a LegacyReel is a video autobiography of yourself or someone you love. It is a fully-customized, beautiful film that showcases an entire life story, including ancestry, childhood, teenage years, marriage, having children, career, and grandkids. A video captures the emotions, laughs, smiles, and voice in a way that a written biography simply cannot.
WHAT DOES A LEGACYREEL INCLUDE?
A LegacyReel includes one or more interviews with the featured individual, as well as favorite family photos, home videos, music, and external research to bring their interview to life. Pictures and home videos give context to the film, while music enhances the emotions of their stories.
WHERE IS A
LEGACYREEL FILMED?
We are based in San Diego and primarily serve Southern California, but we can film anywhere in the United States. We typically film clients where they live, or at a family member's home. We work to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible.
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO TALK ABOUT DURING THE INTERVIEW?
We work with your family beforehand, getting to know them deeply and listening to their stories, so by the time we film, we already have a solid foundation of how the conversation will go. We confirm that we are covering every part of the story. After we leave, if you remember there was something more you wanted to include, we offer the ability to return for additional filming.
WHAT IS THE
INTERVIEW LIKE?
It's easy! Simply talk about your life, from beginning to end. If you need prompting, we will ask questions, and you answer them. And, since we already know most of the stories we'll be covering, we tailor our questions specifically for you.
We use a multi-camera setup, complete with lights and high-quality microphones to ensure that we are recording the best possible footage and sound.
AFTER THE INTERVIEW, WHAT'S NEXT?
We then take your raw interview footage and craft it into an organized, beautiful re-telling of your life, from beginning to present day. We include your photographs, home videos, music, and our own research to help tell your story the way it was meant to be told: by you.
WHEN DO WE
GET TO SEE IT?
We work with your deadline. However, on average the videos take two months to complete. Once we have finished a first draft, you will be able to see it and tell us what you love and what needs editing.
HOW MANY ROUNDS OF EDITS CAN WE REQUEST?
Unlimited! Your satisfaction is our guarantee. Our standard package allows for 3 rounds of changes, but you can add additional rounds for a small price.
